Opening of the IVth Maphon Festival to promote reading
The "4th Vientiane Reading Promotion Festival" or Vientiane Book Festival 2023 was officially opened on November 28, 2023 at Vientiane Center Shopping Mall, Under the motto "Making reading a culture, bringing knowledge to sustainable progress" honoring the participation of Mr. Sinlavong Khutphaithun, Chairman of the Central Lao National Front, Mr. Phu Khong Bonnavong, Deputy Governor of Vientiane Mr. Xaybandit Rachael, Vice President of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This event is held to encourage Lao people, Lao children, students to see the importance of reading and to become progressive intellectuals of society in the future.
The organization of this event is a tribute to the Maphon festival to promote reading to continue every year. Most recently, on October 19-22, 2023, the event was held in Champasak province. The event includes many important activities such as lectures on various topics from business unit operators, various experts, teachers related to the promotion of reading; Give story books to the libraries of schools that participate in the activities of the event; Promote new writers - launch new book writing works; Encourage teachers to create reading activities in schools every day before going to book class;
Promoting reading in schools, creating outstanding teachers annuall y, presenting the work of teachers in activities to promote reading in schools; Promote fundraising to buy books for all school libraries across the country.
