The IV Vientiane Book Festival 2023 was officially opened on November 28, 2023 at the Vientiane Center shopping mall, under the slogan "Make reading a culture "Bringing knowledge to sustainable progress" to honor the participation of Mr. Silavong Kutphaithun, Chairman of the Lao National Front Center, Mr. Phu Khong Bonnavong Deputy Governor of Vientiane, Mr. Xaybandit Rachael, Vice President of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The event is held to promote Lao people, Lao children, students to see the importance of reading and to become progressive intellectuals of society in the future. And also to continue organizing the Maphon festival every year and expand to all provinces throughout the country. The organization of this event is a tribute to Boun Maphon to promote reading to continue every year. Most recently, on October 19-22, 2023, the event was held in Champasak province.
